HOW THE EARTH WAS CREATED IN SIX DAYS ACCORDING THE EVIDENCE OF SCIENCE AND THE BIBLE.

ATHEISTIC PROPAGANDA.

I UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION. We're bombarded with what amounts to atheistic propaganda dressed up as science. I assume that as you are reading this, you have already read, "Evolution or Creation" (if not click here)and seen that Evolution in all it's forms, cannot possibly have taken place. It is a crack pot theory which contradicts itself and is illogical, irrational rubbish. They have to peddle this rubbish because the alternative is that they will have to believe in God - and that would be unthinkable for them. You will by now know that evolution is only a belief. It takes a lot more faith to believe in it than to believe in God! It is certainly not science!

A great many people, of course, say they believe in evolution because they assume those with "greater knowledge" than themselves know what they're talking about. Then they leave themselves wide open to deception. I say they should think for themselves!

There are even Christians who think evolution was God's method of creating everything. They are told it happened that way - that everything before Abraham is myth and the Genesis account did not really take place. They are told it is poetry! Hopefully by now having read the previous study they will realise that is impossible.

I WOULD SAY THIS TO ANY CHRISTIAN WHO BELIEVES IN EVOLUTION: If you believe in evolution why do you believe in Jesus? If there was death before Adam, there is no need for Jesus! Think about it - it's just another way of devaluing Him.

I AM A RATIONALIST! To be referred to as a rationalist normally means a person is an atheist, an evolutionist. Our friend Professor Richard Dawkins would claim this for himself for example. The implication being, of course, that it is far more rational to be an evolutionist and atheist - NONSENSE! I believe to be a Bible believing Christian, a real follower of Jesus, is far more rational and scientific according to the evidence. First and foremost, I am a follower of Jesus because many years ago Jesus revealed Himself to me. I am also a rather logical, rational thoughtful person and I know being a follower of Jesus is also the most logical and rational thing to be. Therefore I am a rationalist!

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

Let us see how the Bible and the scientific evidence match up. Put all preconceived ideas out of your mind if you can (that's not easy, I know). We will consider the scientific basis of creation. How the Bible compliments the laws of science as opposed to evolution which does not, as we have seen. We will see how God creates. We will see that the Bible claims God created time, space, matter and energy.

We'll see that the assumptions of the evolutionists are simply wrong. For example; light has not always been travelling at the speed it is today and the great difference that makes. This alone turns the evolutionist's theory on it's head and fits the Bible explanation of things.

We will see how people lived much longer than they do today and how much more healthy they were. We'll see how God brought about the world wide flood and that before this how different the world was. We'll see how the land was all in one place. What really killed the dinosaurs and so on. Just read on and be ENLIGHTENED!

"IN THE BEGINNING..."

Someone I know once described the first few chapters of the book of Genesis as "irrational mumblings". All he was doing, of course, was showing his ignorance of the subject. We'll go through what happened and you can judge for yourself.

Bible chronology is a vast subject. It can be quite mathematical and is beyond the scope of this particular study but if you want to know more then go to the home page of this web site and click on "The Revelation of Bible Chronology" where you can read all about it. However, most Bible chronologists would agree that creation took place around, or just before 4,000 BC. Personally, I would hang my hat on 4,075 BC but I won't explain that here. Any dates I use are from my own chronology as I naturally believe that to be correct.

It was Moses who abridged the book of Genesis which simply means "The Book of Beginnings". He did this from source material written by the patriarchs themselves which in turn were divided into generations known as "toledots". Clearly Adam wrote the first four chapters followed by Noah and so on. Now let us see how accurate Moses was when he wrote this book from older source material, written sometime between 1639 BC and 1600 BC.

The Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verse 1 (Gen. 1:1) says: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." This is perfectly in accord with the first and second laws of thermodynamics referred to in the previous study. Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed. In other words there is nothing in the universe capable of bringing it into being. Therefore the Creator God must have brought about the universe from outside of it.[1]

Secondly, the law of cause and effect says that every effect must have a cause and that the effect cannot be greater in size or in kind than the cause. "Every effect", that includes the universe coming into being. It is an effect which must have had a cause. In other words the universe cannot be greater than it's First Cause (God). Therefore according to the law of cause and effect the universe must have had a First Cause as it could not create itself - agreed? (No exceptions to this have ever been observed).

The second law of thermodynamics says that things move in a direction from order to chaos. That is to say that energy whilst remaining constant in quantity, moves to a lower potential and is less available to do the work. This tells us that there was a beginning to the universe. If it had always existed then by now it would have run down and even expired. As it clearly has not then it must have been created.

In addition the two fundamental quantities of matter and energy referred to in the first law need information for something to be created. This is why the atheist's "Big Bang" cannot have resulted in the universe that we see today. That information is God. [2]

Genesis 1:2 says: "Now the earth was formless and void and darkness was over the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." This tells us the earth was covered in water, that there was no dry land. It was God's foundation stone.

"LET THERE BE LIGHT..."

Genesis 1:3 says: " And God said, 'Let there be light' and there was light." When we speak out we either bless or curse - either create or destroy such as; "My stomach's killing me." "You'll never be any good at that." "I can't believe it." Beware! We bless and curse all the time. Speaking out has tremendous power and we must use it wisely. This is how God creates - He speaks into existence; "Let there be light." God is omnipotent (all powerful) and omniscient (all knowing) and He could have created the earth instantly and perfect. He certainly would not have needed billions of years or even a thousand years for each day as some Christians claim. He took as long as 6 days to set us an example.

Moses' knew nothing of physics! Yet he wrote in accordance with science. God speaks; "In the beginning" so he has spoken TIME. He has spoken, "The heavens," so He has spoken SPACE. He has spoken, "The earth," so He has spoken MATTER. Now He has spoken, "Let there be light," so He has spoken ENERGY into existence as well.

How did Moses know that TIME, SPACE, MATTER and ENERGY cannot exist independently of each other? God created them all at the same time for this reason. 6,000 years ago the laws of science were being observed in the writings of Moses but how did Moses know? Don't just dismiss this! The answer is, of course, that Moses didn't know but God is the Great Physicist and He inspired the writing of the Bible.

God created light by speaking it into existence. This is not to be confused with God creating the sun which was much later. The light here at first created was directed light from Him who is all light - in Him there is no darkness. His light was created and commanded to shine out of darkness to light up the whole world. This too is beyond the scope of this study but is covered in my study, "A Revelation of Time," when posted. All light comes from God and His light is greater than all other light, even the light of the sun. Astronomers will tell you it is the sun that holds the earth in it's orbit but ultimately it is actually God Himself.

THE SPEED OF LIGHT: When God spoke, "Let there be light," it was so and it was highly significant. It provides many answers as to how evolutionists have got it wrong. Stay with me as I take you through a startling discovery that has rumbled on for many years in the scientific world and has profound implications for evolutionary theory. You will not have heard of it as it does not fit the evolutionist's model.

When, as the Bible says, God created light 6,000 years ago this meant that light started then. When God spoke light into existence it was instant. Today it travels at the relatively slow speed of 186,000 miles per second. Ever since creation there is evidence it has been slowing down to it's present day velocity. Once this is known and appreciated, there are significant consequences:

It will shorten to a fraction the atomic time scale.

It will reduce the radiometric ages of rocks to a few thousand years from millions.

Light travelling from distant galaxies would take a few thousand years not millions.

It would wipe out the residue of radiation and therefore the "big bang" theory.

It explains the "missing mass" of astronomy.

It would reduce geological effects that support the Bible.

It would explain fossils of larger beings and vegetation

THE DECREASE IN THE SPEED OF LIGHT and in radioactive decay "constants" changes the age of the universe from billions to a few thousand years which is what the Bible says. We will explain this and look at the evidence carefully and tell you where you can verify this for yourself[2]:

Malcolm Bowden has done a great deal of work on this subject which has been published through the Creation Science Movement[2]. He reviews Barry Setterfield's Invited Research Report for Stanford Research Institute International. Let us see what he says:

It was the astronomer Roemer who first calculated the velocity of light in 1675 AD. He did this by timing the revolution of the moon and Jupiter which took longer when the earth and Jupiter were moving apart as when they were approaching each other. The times of the eclipses were different due to the varying distances from each other. An astronomical telescope can be used to measure the speed of light when the earth sweeps out compared with 6 months later when it returns. This can also be done by using a rotating toothed wheel to break up a beam of light that is shining through it to a distant mirror which them reflects it back. There are many other methods. These experiments show a definite decrease in the speed of light. Indeed the speed of light plotted on a curve and extrapolated back in time reaches infinity just over 6,000 years ago! What does all this mean? It's nothing short of world shattering!

As you will see from the graph, it changes many assumptions that have been made by evolutionists. Up until 2,000 BC it does not alter the historical time scale but once beyond that it begins to gather pace. Why would it give the impression of much greater age running into millions of years? One reason is that radioactive disintegration rates are linked to the speed of light. Things decay much faster as the speed of light increases. This leads to a false appearance of age. Those rocks that appear to be hundreds of millions of years old are really only thousands of years old! You see the whole of radiometric dating is based on the assumption that decay is constant. If it is not constant then the whole foundation crumbles. Can you see that? THOSE MILLIONS OF YEARS SIMPLY DO NOT EXIST!!

The vertical bar represents the speed of light in millions. For example the present speed of light is 186,000 miles (299792.458 kilometres) per second. The horizontal bars represents time. The top horizontal bar represents ordinary historical time with which we are all familiar. (For example 1,000 BC is the time of King Solomon or the Chinese Shang dynasty.) The bottom horizontal bar represents the atomic time scale in millions of years. (For example this would correspond to the chart in the geology section of the previous study on evolution.) Barry Setterfield plotted his findings on this graph with startling results. This represents the curved line, "The velocity of light". The speed of light reaches infinity around 4,000 or 5,000 BC or just about instantaneous when God said, "Let there be light."

THE RED SHIFT is known as the Doppler effect first discovered in 1842 by J. Doppler, an Austrian physicist. You will be familiar with it yourself. Standing by a road a car engine sounds higher pitched as it approaches you and lower as it passes and goes away from you. This is caused by the sound waves being crowded together and stretched when it moves away. If an atom, which emits light of definite wavelengths which appear in a spectroscope as a series of coloured lines, is receding then they appear redder as they have longer wavelengths than usual. This is called the "red shift". The other end of the spectrum, the short waves (like the car coming towards you) are violet colours.

WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF THIS GREATLY INCREASED SPEED OF LIGHT?

The universe is contracting - not expanding! The decrease in the speed of light shifts the frequency of light from distant galaxies to the red end of the spectrum. Many scientists say this is due to the expanding universe (the Doppler effect). However, Barry Setterfield calculates that the amount of red shift is more than the observed figure which means the universe is contracting, not expanding. This accounts for the so called "missing mass" of astronomy.

THE RATE OF DECAY IS FASTER and this alters the whole time scale. It has the effect of squeezing it up more and more tightly the further back you go. For example dinosaurs are dated radiometrically at 200 -300 million years ago because the speed of light is assumed to have been constant. In fact they were around before the flood in great numbers c2470 BC, (Malcolm Bowden says c3,000 BC). He says it can be shown that radioactive disintegration rates are linked to the speed of light.. Therefore these decay rates were much faster in the past. Decay is much more rapid as the speed of light increases. This gives the impression that rocks are millions of years old when in fact they are only a few thousand years old. THOSE MILLIONS OF YEARS OF THE EVOLUTIONISTS ARE IN THE REALMS FOR FAIRYLAND.

LIGHT FROM DISTANT GALAXIES, say evolutionists, must have been travelling for millions of years and this is one objection they have to the earth being only a few thousand years old. However, with light moving up to 10 to the power of 10 faster in the past, such distances could be covered in only thousands of years.

THE BACKGROUND RADIATION OF SPACE is seen as evidence for the "big bang" that evolutionists claim started the universe. However, Barry Setterfield contends that the speed of light was initially 10 million times faster than it's present value of 186,000 per second. The oldest stars in the galaxy would have experienced high rates of radioactivity, Setterfield tells us. The effect would be that the very large stars would have exploded into supernovas and the smaller ones into red giants. Malcolm Bowden says that most of the omitted energy would have been in the form of X-rays which, when shifted 10 million time lower in frequency as the speed of light decreased, would account for today's background radiation. Thus another mystery of space that seems to support evolution is solved! Background radiation supports the Bible - not evolution!

THERE IS A SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF AN ASTRONOMICAL PUZZLE. It is that material in the universe seems to be moving at many times the speed of light but these events are being viewed when light travelled much faster. These superluminals do not do the impossible at all!

CERTAIN GEOLOGICAL EFFECTS would have arisen out of a decrease in the speed of light Malcolm Bowden says. Magma flows would have been more rapid, mantle convection and drift rates greater. Rapid electron movement would have led to superconductivity in the earth's core, generating a high magnetic field. Another mystery solved!

BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS: He goes on to explain that more light protons reaching plants would have caused a high rate of photosynthesis. This is shown to be true by fossil plants from the time of the flood being larger than today. Insects breath through microscopic air tubes and larger fossil insects are seen due to lower viscosity (flow resistance) and faster diffusion. Lift to drag ratios would be higher making more efficient flight thus solving the problem of the pterosaurs flying which had a 25 feet wing span. Mammals and man would have breathed more efficiently and had more efficient blood flow and many other bodily functions. Nerve impulses would have been faster. The greater speed of electron and ion movements could mean that man was more intelligent than today - well, well! More about this later.

Genesis 1:4&5 says: "God saw that the light was good and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning - the first day."

God here as given us our day and night. Half the earth is in darkness whilst the other half is in light. This means that light and darkness are on the earth at the same time and there is a dividing line between the two. How did Moses know this? God has set the earth spinning to give us day and night which make it dynamically stable and has a magnetic field which protects us from harmful solar radiation.

God is also saying here that day is from sunset the sunset and recognised in Israel to this day. Their Sabbath day is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. He is also saying that these "days" of creation are literal days. The Hebrew word here is "yom" meaning a 24 hour day.

WATER CANOPY:

Genesis 1:6-8 says: "And god said, 'Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.' So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expannse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse 'sky'. And there was evening and there was morning - the second day." This scripture holds many keys to understanding all we have been discussing about evolution and so many other things. It even explains what really did kill the dinosaurs! He that has an ear, let him hear."

Here God created an expanse between the waters. The word "expanse" can mean space, atmosphere or sky. Here god has made the atmosphere for us to breath. Then instead of placing all the water below the atmosphere as it is now, He places half of it above the sky! In the old King James Bible the word used is divide. To divide implies two equal parts. In other words God placed half the existing water we see in the oceans today above the expanse of the sky and left the other half here on earth.

EARTH

OUR ATMOSPHERE is quite complex but from the chart you can see that some way up is the Thermosphere starting at 65 miles until about 185 miles high. Here the temperature is many hundred degrees, well in excess of boiling point of steam. It can hold vast quantities of water but it is now empty. David Rosevear tells us that hydrogen bonding allows water vapour to vary in density and to be lighter than air at very high temperatures. How would this effect the earth and it's inhabitants?

THE EFFECT OF THE WATER VAPOUR CANOPY would be very beneficial according to Doctors Farid Abou Rahme and David Rosevear. It would have created a greenhouse effect because water absorbs infrared rays. There would be an increase in atmospheric pressure, a great deal more than today. This is born out by comparing the atmosphere of today which contains 20% oxygen with 30% oxygen found in air bubbles trapped in amber.

HEALTHIER AND LONGER LIVING:

Enhance health by reducing mutation rates.

Wounds would heal overnight instead of taking a couple of weeks.

There would be little memory loss and NO senility.

Strokes would be rare.

Some metabolic rates would be lower (heartbeat, breathing etc.).

All this together with the benefits of increased speed of light would mean people would live much longer and be more healthy and intelligent.

We must also bear in mind that when God created Adam He would not have given him a touch of arthritis, a spot of rickets and a touch of asthma for good measure, would he? There would be no inherited diseases either. The Bible says Adam lived 930 years and bearing this in mind it is not surprising. I believe Adam lived to this age and so will the scientists mentioned in these two studies.

CLIMATIC CONDITION OF THE EARTH would be vastly different to today:

The earth would have been uniformly warm and moist.

There would be no arid heat or polar ice.

There would be no (or very little) wind because there would be no weather systems. The first wind in the Bible was mentioned after the flood.

There would be no rain. Mists watered the earth according to the Bible. There would have been a very high water table.

There would have been no high mountains as this took place after the palaeozoic sedimentary layer was put down.

ANIMALS AND VEGETATION would have been different.

Things would have been much larger than today. This is certainly and absolutely correct as can be proved by the fossil record.

Vegetation would have been lush all over the globe. This is why Mammoths are found in the frozen arctic with a meal of fresh lush vegetation in their stomachs. It baffles evolutionists but Bible believing Christians laugh at them. Are you getting the message yet?

Giant reptiles flourished on the giant lush vegetation. This would have included those "Terrible Lizards" mention in the earlier study, the Dinosaurs. Again remains found in the arctic baffle evolutionists.

Giantism would have been the norm as the fossil record shows. This is born out by experiments at a Texas university I was reading about recently. Tomatoes grown in these conditions grew to 16 feet, bore 930 tomatoes and continued to grow. A person was pronounced dead with carbon monoxide poisoning but recovered completely in 3 weeks in a high pressure chamber with no loss of memory.

DINOSAURS would have thrived in such conditions before the flood in Noah's time wiped them all out. The giant, lush vegetation they ate accounts for much of our coal today. These fossilised dinosaurs lived before 2470 BC and the flood, not 65 million years ago. Some, a very few, survived the flood as we shall see.

THE JIGSAW:

Genesis 1:9-10 says: "And God said, 'Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.' And it was so. God called the dry ground 'land' and the gathered waters He called 'seas'. And God saw that it was good."

Here God has created the land and the sea and separated them. The seas were gathered to one place and therefore the land also. There was one giant continent. Scientists have long believed the continents were joined together, there is a great deal of evidence for this. How many of us have looked at an atlas and wondered if at one time South America and Africa were joined. I was fascinated by this and knew that this scripture was telling me something.

Then a few years ago I heard of a study by Fernard Crombette, a Frenchman whose essay; "Essai de Geographie Divine" that shows how he analysed the works, reports and explorations according to Peter Wilders.

It looks at the studies of various experts to see how the drifts of continents really took place. A group of scientists have formed a group called "Cercle Scientifique et Historique" (CESHE) to continue and propagate Crombette's work as he died in 1970. They made a summary and just a few copies in English of his work entitled; "General Views on F. Crombette's Essay on Divine Geography".

It is this which I obtained through David Rosevear some years ago on loan and I was able to study the work. It contained copies of 95 maps. I could not copy them as they were subject to copyright but gleaned enough for appreciate their message.

FERNARD CROMBETTE said the average depth of the sea is 4,000 metres. If half of the waters were above the sky then it seemed logical to assume that at that time the average depth of the sea would be 2,000 metres. If this was the case then 2,000 metres below the present surface there would be an indication of a jigsaw of land mass fitting together. It is clear that this is so. It fits together with one or two exceptions but this could be due to earth movements of one kind or another. When the jigsaw of land is fitted together it makes a single unit of land, as the Bible says, with 8 symmetrical, scalloped sides. It is flower shaped with Jerusalem at the centre.

Peter Wilders has produced an excellent summary[3] of some of Crombette's work in which he tells us Crombette was a linguist specialising in ancient languages. He found a way of translating Egyptian and other hieroglyphics as well as ancient Hebrew, into Coptic. He translated the entire history of ancient Egypt, Crete and the Hittite nation into Coptic. This was the ancient language of the Copts, of course, who were Christians but descendants of ancient Egyptians. He was able to establish a direct link between ancient Egypt and the children of Noah. He was also able to confirm some historic events in the Bible with those written in these hieroglyphic inscriptions. However, he discovered something even more important than that:

The Hebrew word for "dry land" or "dry ground" is "herec" as in Genesis 1:9. This he translated into Coptic as follows:

Coptic: He Hre(+Hrere) Ce

Latin: Facies Flos Colere

English: Beauty Flower Adorn

Meaning: "Adorned by the beauty of a flower". A variation would be "herez": "Similar to a beautiful flower." GOD'S OWN NAME FOR THE LAND ON WHICH WE LIVE.

Therefore the interpretation of this part of Genesis 1:9 would read: "And let the earth be adorned by the beauty of a flower."

It is clear that after He had created the earth and it was covered in water God adorned it with a beautiful flower. This, from Crombette's notes, was shaped like a beautiful flower because it had eight symmetrical, scalloped sides with Jerusalem at the centre. This gives greater meaning to Psalm 73:12: "Yet God my King is from old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth." Jesus died for all and bringing salvation to those who believe in Him at Jerusalem, literally the centre of the earth.

Peter Wilder goes on to tell us that it was accepted for many years that there was a slow continental drift over millions of years. This is an illusion and not supported by fact according to a study by Nicholas Stoyko which was handed to the French Academy of Science. Since then many theories have been developed but many eminent scientists believe it to be geophysically impossible. We would agree with them that there was one original continent but that it was not slow drift but sudden division which shaped our present continents.

THERE WAS A SUDDEN BREAK UP OF THE SUPER-CONTINENT in the days when Peleg, great grandson of Noah, was born in 2372 BC (Gen. 10:25). Peleg means division and it was a Hebrew tradition to give descriptive names to their children either at birth, near the end of life and even after death. Examples are Abram/Abraham, Jacob/Israel, Saul/Paul, Jedidiah/Solomon and so on (see my study on Bible Chronology on this web site).

It was when the Tower of Babel was built that God scattered the people by confusing there language. There is strong evidence for this and it is world wide. Cave paintings, writings, inscriptions, records all quite clearly show mankind as having the same root yet found at different ends of the earth. Writing discovered in the Indus valley probably dates before the great flood, is made up of characters very similar to those found on Easter Island at the other side of the globe. "Experts" are baffled by this but the Bible has the explanation. What caused the break up of the huge "flower" continent? We'll return to this later.

Genesis 1:11-13 says: "Then God said, 'Let the land produce vegetation: seed bearing plants and tree on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.' And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning - the third day."

Here we have the first life to be created. It was land based, not water based as the evolutionists claim. It was created to produce subsequent life of it's own kind. This is sound genetics and in line with fossil evidence and all other observations.

A word for those Christians who try make it a little easier for God and say each creation day was a thousand years. Consider this: The fruit trees were created on day three. The bees on day six. Had these days been a thousand years the fruit trees would have had to wait three thousand years for the bees to come along - they would not have survived their first generation!

Genesis 1:14-19 says: "And God said, 'Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.' And it was so. God made two great lights - the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning the fourth day."

Don't forget the law of cause and effect, that the effect cannot be greater than the cause. As God created the universe He has to be greater than that which He has created! Some have worshipped the sun for thousands of years, and still do in this country, because of it's perceived power and glory but it's nothing compared to it's Creator who created countless more suns. The Bible is concerned with time and these celestial bodies represent this.

Genesis 1:20-25 deals with the fifth day, the creation of living creatures - but not yet mankind. God said: "Let the water teem with living creatures and let the birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." This passage says God created the creatures of the sea, the birds of the air and the life stock and wild animals according to their own kinds. This is still the case. They only breed within their kinds. Dogs are still dogs and cats are still cats.

GOD CREATED ADAM AND HIS WIFE EVE and thus created the sexes. Evolutionists have never been able to explain how the sexes began.

Genesis 1:26 says: "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creature that move along the ground.'..." Verse 27 onwards tells us how God created man and woman. There is more detail in Chapter 2. These passages are very interesting and tell us much.

The Hebrew word here for God is "Elohim" which literally means: "The Gods El." It is plural; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is why He says; "Let us make man in our image..." I am 6 feet two inches tall and have a beard. This does not mean God looks like me. It means that just as God is a triune Being so He created Adam; spirit, soul and body, a triune being - three in one - a trinity in unity, just like God. Man has been created with an intellect, a moral and emotional nature which transcends instinct. We are able to communicate with each other - we are articulate with God too. Man's soul is his mind, will and emotion. He has the power to reason. Only mankind is created in the image of God with a spirit unlike the animals and birds etc.

God tells Adam to rule over the fish and animals etc. We should treat them with kindness we are in charge. Use them for food and clothing and energy but don't abuse them. Don't forget, this was the world prior to the flood, a very different world to now.

In verses 29 and 30 God tells them He gives them every seed bearing plant and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. He tells them that this is their food (not meat). He then says He also gives the green plants to the animals and birds for food (not meat). How remarkable! God says man, all animals, birds and creatures, in fact everything with lungs to breath are vegetarian - herbivorous (as opposed to the bloodless grass, herbs and trees).

Yes, you're right! Mankind, animals, birds and creatures were all created vegetarian. You see there was no death in the pre-fallen world.

Finally, on the 7th day God rested to set us an example. We all need rest. Most cultures have a 7 day week and rest on one of them and this tradition goes way back into the mists of time. I'm sure you mat be able to find a culture that is the exception but it's unusual.

It all happened in a week. The creation was finished but the structure was in place to fill the earth. Reproduction of their own kind was established. There was no death nor pain, no wars, no cruelty, no squabbling, no hard work. There was no rain, no wind, no rainbow. The earth was watered by mists. God had planted a garden eastward in Eden (actually what is now Jerusalem) for Adam to tend (please note, not Eve). There was no hard work. He could eat and drink and live without labour trying to grow crops and plough the ground. Plants for food would have sprung up ready to eat without effort. No weeds grew. It was clearly heaven! I believe the world god created was a world where the second law of thermodynamics was the reverse of today that everything improved rather than became worse. Things went from order to greater order.

Then God in His infinite love made a woman for Adam and brought her to him Eve must have been God's perfect female creation and very beautiful. Adam's reaction is recorded in verse 23 but he probably exclaimed, "WOWEE!!!, You are clever God, I'd never have thought of that in a million years!"

Adam had many things to eat but he was told not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This was his test of his obedience. God told him that if he did then he would immediately die. This death is spiritual death - cut off from God. Quite clearly Adam and his wife walked and talked with God as a friend. However, Adam though he knew best as we, as children of the fallen Adam, think too.

The devil, who wanted Adam and all mankind that followed, knew he could not deceive Adam so he got to him through Eve by deceiving her and he tempted her into eating the fruit - she did not sin by eating the fruit but was deceived. The Bible says the devil appeared to Eve in the form of a serpent and some ask how could Eve have been deceived by a talking snake?! As always with the Bible we have to read carefully what it says. I suggest you do that and you will see that firstly it was only afterwards that the serpent was cursed onto it's belly. This being before stood on legs. Secondly, the Hebrew word here for serpent can also be translated as, "The bright and shiny one." Clearly she thought the devil was an angel, he can appear as an angel of light, and he fooled her into thinking Adam had told her wrongly about the fruit. Don't forget, when you read it you will see God told Adam, not Eve. Clearly it was Adam who told her.

When Adam saw his lovely wife had lost her glory by eating of the fruit, he should have gone to God and told Him, giving Him the responsibility. Instead he took it upon himself and ate the fruit when his wife Eve offered it to him. This is known as the fall of Adam - he knew exactly what he was doing by eating the fruit - he sinned.

When you read the text, too long to quote here, you will see a number of things happened. Adam died the spiritual death - his spirit died. Now he and Eve were soul and body only. (In John chapter 3 Jesus said to be saved we have to be born again. When this happens our spirits are reborn - we go back to the pre-fall state of having a spirit, soul and body.)

Adam and his wife have now arrived in the sinful state (less than perfect). They realise they are naked and soon have clothes. God curses the ground, that is he reverses the second law of thermodynamics to what it is today, that every gets worse- goes from order to chaos (Gen 3:17). God makes weeds grow and tells Adam he will live by the "sweat of his brow". Now he is going to have to work to live. Slowly Adam and Eves bodies begin to decay but ten times slower than our bodies do today because of the water canopy climate! We have now all inherited this "fallen" state. We are all separated from God.

Adam and Eve lived in this fallen world. He toiled to produce food for them and Eve? Well, she bore Adam children, probably well over a hundred but there is no proof of this, just logic. Their sons married their sisters (there were no genetic mutations then) and they produced more children. The population grew fast in this idyllic world still much better than the world we now know. It had a perfect climate, lush vegetation where dinosaurs flourished and it lasted 1605 years.

THE WORLD WIDE FLOOD:

The people began to be very wicked indeed and God was angry and brought a flood onto the earth. This was a real event as we have seen by the wealth of evidence in the previous study. God told Noah to build an ark and he followed the directions God gave him. It took him about 100 years to build with his three sons.

It was certainly his "magnum opus" and would have been the size of one of today's oil tankers according to the measurements given in the Bible. In story books Noah's ark is often depicted as a medieval galleon with a flag on top saying "Noah's Ark" and Mr and Mrs Lion waking up the gang plank. It was nothing like that.

NOAH'S ARK was in fact 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. It had three decks and air vents along the top. To give you an idea of it's size cut a piece of wallpaper 6 feet 4 inches long by 12.5 feet wide and lay it out on the floor. Get a pencil sharpening about an inch tall and stand it on top at one end. At the same scale that would represent Noah's height stood on the top deck. It would have been 7.5 inches tall.

Doctor Farid Abou Rahme, an hydraulic engineer says the measurements of the ark given in the Bible are the optimum for stability. He says such a design would be almost impossible to capsize although it would be very slow. Of course Noah's wasn't exactly in a hurry to go anywhere! It would survive a violent tilt of 60 degrees and would return upright. He says the length to width ratio of 6 to 1 makes for stability, resisting vortex forces, pitch and roll and riding over troughs and waves because of it's length. Computer simulations all favour the design of Noah's ark.

In 1844 Brunel used similar ratios in the ship "Great Britain" (322x51x32.5 feet). He was building on generations of shipwrights but Noah got it right first time! Don't dismiss that! Noah got it right first time. Just think about that. If you don't believe God inspired his writings or that he got his information from Noah, whom you may think is just a myth, Moses gives the dimensions of this huge ocean going ship that is perfect for it's job first time and without any experience of the sea. If you are a cynic then explain this. It was on record 3,500 years ago and is proved correct today!

"THE ANIMALS CAME IN TWO BY TWO..." so the song goes. Is this what it was really like? Could Noah have rounded up all those animals, including dinosaurs, and got them into his ark? Why didn't the lions eat the zebras - or Noah and his family?

The ark would have had a capacity of 1,396,000 cubic feet, having a displacement of some 14,000 tons according to Doctor Farid Abou Rahme. We're told the average size of animal is a sheep and there are about 18,000 species of land animals. Any extra large animals such as dinosaurs, would have been young ones, of course. To get an idea of volume and speaking in averages for simplicity, the ark would have been able to hold the equivalent of 125,280 sheep.

Therefore there would have been enough room for all the animals of each kind and two of each just on one deck alone! And there were THREE decks!

HOW DID NOAH GET ALL THE ANIMALS ON BOARD? HOW DID HE FIND THEM ALL? Let us see exactly what the Bible says. Genesis 6:20 says: "Two of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive..."

God tells Noah to take them into the ark. Then Genesis 7:9 says: "Pairs of ...animals (etc.) came to Noah and entered the ark." Then after the flood was over Genesis 9:2-3 says: "The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth, and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground and upon all the fish of the sea: they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything." (You see the Bible is very specific.)

The Bible is quite clear that before the flood animals, birds etc. were not afraid of people or each other because they did not eat each other. Humans and animals were all vegetarians. The age before the flood was a greatly different world to what we see around us today. Noah did not have tom get on his horse and round up the animals. God brought them to him. They were tame. We ample room for food storage they all went into the ark and the door was sealed. Doubtless some animals would hibernate.

Then the "rains" came down, heavy, a deluge. The ark would begin to rise off the ground when the water reached a depth of 15 cubits. It is at this point that Noah would have been thankful that he did not skimp on the pitch!

THE WORLD WIDE FLOOD, the Bible tells us (Gen 7:19-20), covered the whole world literally, even over the mountain tops by 15 cubits (20 feet or 6.9 metres). God had judged the wicked inhabitants of the earth and wiped them out, saving Noah and his family.

We should realise that the mountains were nothing like the height they are today. Mountain building took place after the so called palaeozoic[4] sedimentary layers had been put down. Ordinary rain would not provide the amount of water needed to cover the whole earth. It is described as rain in the Bible because that is what it will have looked like - continuous heavy rain.

The Bible says the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened. Tectonic activity always releases juvenile water from the earth's crust. Another caused God obviously used was the water vapour canopy around the earth. Remember that half the water in our present day oceans were up in the thermosphere as superheated steam. That came down on the earth.

WHAT CAUSED THE DELUGE? What caused the water canopy to collapse? Graham Fisher, M.Ed., tells us[5] what is the most likely cause God used to trigger the flood. Astral bodies have come close to the earth. A close "fly-by" is accepted scientific theory. When I was at school it was taught that the solar system came into being by this method, that some astral body came close to the sun and tore away material that form our planets. Even collisions with earth from time to time. The moon has the scars of such collisions having no atmosphere. Scars are also on the earth but not so obvious. For example at Tungusta, Siberia in 1908 there was such a collision.

THE OUTER PLANETS are very interesting. Something seems to have disturbed their original uniform orbits. Uranus has a clockwise rotation with it's axis tilted 90 degrees to the plain of the elliptical (the earth is 23.5 degrees). One of Neptunes moons, Triton, also rotates clockwise. The most outer planet Pluto crosses inside Neptune's orbit now and again. It is believed[6] that Pluto was originally a satellite of Neptune and some cataclysmic event ejected Pluto from it's orbit and reveresed to motion of Triton according to Graham Fisher.

WHAT CAUSED THIS UPSET IN THE OUTER PLANETS? Harrington and Van Flandern of the US Navel Observatory in Washington DC propose that the passage of a massive object between 2 and 5 times the size of the earth passed slowly through the orbits of Neptune's moons resulting in the present day orbits of Pluto and Neptune. Fisher says what happened out there doesn't effect the Noahian flood here but just shows the kind of event that can happen and that it is accepted scientific theory. The same kind of event could have cause Uranus to flip over 90 degrees and spin backwards. There are ice satellites in the solar system, of course. Europa and Ganymede, two of Jupiter's moons have large ice content, even all ice. Pluto's moon, Charan is mainly water ice. Haley's comet is ice. Saturn, Uranus and Pluto have planetary rings containing ice dust. They are thought to be fragments from satellites that came too near to the planets and were torn apart by gravitational forces.

WHY ARE SUCH PLANETS TORN APART? It is the Roche Law discussed in the previous study. Bodies over 200 miles in diameter can only approach each other if they are equal density to 2.25 times the radius of the larger body. Closer than this the gravitational force of the larger body pulls apart the smaller. Our moon has a Roche Limit of about 10,000 miles.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A PLANET PASSED WITHIN IT'S ROCHE LIMIT? You will see we are getting nearer the cause of the Noahian flood. If we take the effects of our moon on the earth we can begin to see what would happen if we experienced a close fly-by. The moon creates water tides, of course, but it also creates rock tides. For example the water tide on the River Mersey is around 28 feet but on the shore on the Wirral peninsula it is about 6 inches! The nearer the moon came the greater the tides until finally rocks would be torn apart and huge tidal waves would swamp the land. The crustal tides on the moon would make it disintegrate at 10,000 miles away - it's Roche Limit. A less dense ice satellite would break up at about 9,000 miles but would have caused great destruction on the earth's surface.

THE FLOOD MECHANISM, as you have seen, is accepted scientific theory. A close fly-by within the earth/moon system would produce this. Geology tells us that this has happened and recently, not millions of years ago. Genesis 7:11-12 says that the fountains of the deep burst open (crustal distortion thus releasing waters trapped under the surface). The windows of heaven opened (the water vapour canopy deluged).

A PICTURE OF THE FLOOD shows an icy satellite coming at a shallow angle between the earth and moon. Coming through the upper atmosphere it would melt, dropping water as heavy rain which would cause the water vapour canopy to condense thus causing even more "rain" to hit the earth. All this would cause massive crustal distortion releasing vast quantities of juvenile water. Magma would pour out giving lava plateaux and volcanoes. Rocks would buckle into mountains and continents collide. Great tidal waves would have raged around the world many times removing rock layers and vegetation. This would have deposited great successions of sediment in a short time and carved great canyons and valleys such as at Mount St. Helens (discussed in the previous study).

THE CHANGE IN THE TILT OF THE EARTH'S AXIS was studied by the late G. F. Dodwell, an Australian astronomer with an international reputation. He studied the angle of the tilt of the earth (the obliquity of the ecliptic[7]). This varies between 22 and 24.5 degrees due to the pull of the sun, moon and planets on the bulge at the earth's equator. It was calculated by Stockwell and Newcomb as having a cycle of 40,000 years. In the mid 1930s George Dodwell became interested in the obliquity of the ecliptic and eventually collected 66 records of the sun's movement stretching back over 4,000 years, Graham Fisher tells us.

Many gnomons[8] were set up throughout the civilised world and records have been kept, together with many records of ancient gnomons Egyptian, early Chinese, Roman and Mediaeval ages. Dodwell found the tilt angle was noticeably different from that expected. When he plotted the date of the measurement against the recorded tilt and compared it with Newcombe's formula he found a marked difference. Clearly something had happened around 2,500 BC that could not be explained by present phenomena. After further calculations which he plotted on a graph it showed it was a log-sins[9] curve showing that the spinning earth returned to a new angle when it had been suddenly deflected from it's original position. He said it had happened around 2,345 BC. This would have happened from the start of the flood (2,470) and lasted many years until the birth of Peleg (c2,372) when the continents were formed. Dodwell later read Professor McReady Price's book; "Hyphothesis of a World Catastrophe" and he realised that he had discovered the cause of the Noahian flood!

If Dodwell is correct then old structures many thousands of years ago and built for sun worship would support his contentions - Let us see:

EGYPTIAN TEMPLES were built to facilitate worship of the sun. The were accurately aligned to the position of the sunrise or sunset on the longest day. One of the largest and most famous is that of Amen-Ra at Karnak. It is about one third of a mile long. The sun shone down the main aisle only on the longest day of the year when the sun was at it's most northerly point. When it was built it was aligned for a tilt of 25.2 degrees yet we have seen the maximum tilt of the earth is 24.5. How can this be? It was built for an angle the sun could not reach! The sun does not reach the main aisle today. This is typical of many ancient structures.

STONEHENGE is dated about 350 BC by archaeologists and historians whilst astronomers date it at 1,900 BC. How can this be? There is a discrepancy here of 1550 years! On Dodwell's curve the alignment agrees with the date of the archaeologist's 350 BC.

EUDOXUS was a Greek astronomer, living about 350 BC and he wrote a poem about the position of the stars. Present day astronomers say the stars of which he wrote could not possibly have been in the positions he claims for them at the time in which he lived. They say they would have been in that position in 1950 BC. Again Dodwell's curve solves the problem as the date on it is again 350 BC and that confirms Eudoxus' observations!

THERE HAS BEEN A RECENT TILT IN THE EARTH'S AXIS according to the evidence which supports the Bible. We should note that G. F. Dodwell was a respected astronomer and was the South Australian Government Astronomer between 1909 and 1952 (for 43 years!). He was a leading international expert and mathematician - not a crank!

AFTER THE FLOOD: In Genesis chapter 8 we read about the flood receding. The waters covered the earth for 150 days, then at the start of chapter 8 it reads: "But God remebered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock that were with him in the ark and he sent a wind over the earth and the waters receded. Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of heaven had been closed and the rain had stopped falling from the sky."

It's not surprising God remembered Noah. I'm sure he could smell him by this time! I'm not surprised He sent a wind either! This is though, the first mention of wind and this is completely in accord with science. With the water vapour canopy now fallen to earth, weather systems would be experienced for the first time. (How did Moses know this? Don't dismiss it!) Later in verse 22 there is the first mention of seasons (Moses again!). This would be caused by the earth now tilted on it's axis and the water vapour canopy gone, they would experience seasons for the first time. Later at chapter 9:14-16 God set a rainbow in the sky for the first time and a reminder that He would never send a flood again. This is also in accord with science. (How did Moses know?)

God also said in verse 2; "The fear and dread of you will fall upon the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground and upon all the fish of the sea..." God put the fear of people into the animals etc. This was not the case before as all were vegetarian. In verse 3 we see that the animals etc. were given to us for food which was why the fear of people was put in them. Mankind were no longer vegetarian.

In chapter 10, verse 25 we read that Peleg (meaning division) was born (2372 BC) and was so called because the land was divided. This was referred to earlier. In the book of Job, circa 2300 BC, we read of snow and ice in what is now the Middle East. Particularly Job 38: 29-30 we read: "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frosts from the heavens, when the waters become hard as stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen?" There are earlier references to snow and hail. For all this to have any meaning to Job he must have had knowledge of an ice catastrophe.

Any ice body passing within it's Roche limit would have deposited ice at the magnetic polar regions says Graham Fisher. Remember the Mammoths quick frozen at the arctic. This would be the cause. He says crustal disturbances with greater buckling under the closest flight path would give the higher fold mountains. He says the two Alpine mountain belts lie along two great circles. Such forces would easily produce continental separations at the time of Peleg and the subsequent receding ice age.

THE SEARCH FOR NOAH'S ARK is a living story. It is beyond the scope of this study (although I may write about it later) to relay all the various stories and legends of Noah's ark. We know it came to rest on mount Ararat in modern day Turkey and many searches have been effected. Many discoveries have been made. One report says it's remains are the size of three QE2s. Some say the vessel is still intact and has three decks and remains of cages.

Doctor Allen Roberts is a historian and lecturer from New South Wales, said on viewing it; "If it isn't Noah's Ark, what is it?" George Hagopian and others claim they have walked the 3 decks. I suggest you study it for yourself. It's facinating but I have no first hand experience and therefore have no authority on the subject. However, who would build a giant ship of wood the size of a modern oil tanker, on top of a mountain when there are no local timber materials? It doesn't make sense without Noah!

THE TABLE OF NATIONS:

Finally, in Genesis 10 the Bible lists the descendants of Noah's 3 sons. A study of this reveals from where the peoples of the earth originated after they were scattered by God. For example the British are descended from Javan, son of Japheth (from who the planet Jupiter derives it's name incidentally) who was the son of Noah. From a study of the English and Welsh Chronicles we can see this is confirmed. The Egyptians are descended from Mizraim, son of Ham, son of Noah. The Jews and Arabs are descended from Abraham, great x 5 grandson of Shem, son of Noah.

Most modernist scholars, i.e., those who do not believe in the Bible, claim history begins with Abraham and everything before him is myth. They ignore the wealth of evidence that contradicts that view otherwise they would have to believe in God.

RECORDED HISTORY does not begin with the Roman invasion of Britain in 55 BC. There are many centuries of history before that. People did not come from caves but went to caves. One of the oldest civilisations in the world, the Chinese seems to start at the dawn of history with the Sage Kings already civilised. They did not dwell in caves. Remember the inaccurate dating methods and how the velocity of light effects dating, both of which have been discussed in the previous study on evolution, the recorded history of nations can be shown to go no further back in history than the Noahian flood.

The oldest book on record apart from the Bible is the "Shu Ching", that is the Book or Classic of History or of Documents and the "Shih Ching", the Book or Classic of Odes or songs, according to the Encyclopaedia Britannica. According to C. H. Kang and Ethal R. Nelson in their book, "The dicovery of Genesis", Concordia Publishing, they claim these books were abridged by confucius in 551 BC and known as the "Book of History". Parts of this were the border ceremony dating back to the Emperor Shun, c2230 BC, one of the early Sage Kings who reigned immediately after the scattering of the people at the Tower of Babel. Here is an extract:

" Of old in the beginning, there was the great chaos, without form and dark. The five elements (planets) had not begun to revolve, nor the sun and the moon to shine. In the midst thereof there existed neither forms nor sound. Thou, O Spiritual Sovereign camest forth in thy presidency, and the first didst divide the grosser parts of the purer. Thou madest heaven; Thou madest earth; Thou madest man. All thing with their reproducing power got their being."

It could be an interpretation of Genesis Chapter 1. That's just what it is. Noah would have handed down to his sons copies of the ancient records who would in turn have handed them down. The ancient Chinese were monotheists worshipping one God whom they called the Heavenly Emperor, Shang Ti (Hebrew = Shaddai, the Almighty) who was self existing, eternal and no image was ever made of Him, exactly the same as the God of the Old Testament. They even had a 7 day week! The old Chinese pictographic writing is based on Genesis, but that is beyond the scope of this study. One has to stop somewhere, that is here.

I suspect there is no need for a conclusion to be written. Far from being irrational mumblings, the Bible and Genesis as we have seen is supported by science. It is difficult to see how anyone with an open mind can be an atheist. Creation is science. God is the Physicist and His creation is THE SCIENCE OF CREATION.
